Josh Solomon, founder of Known Quantity LLC

Hi, I'm Josh.

Founder of Known Quantity LLC. No account managers, no handoffs to someone you haven't met: every project here is mine from the first email to the last file. Seven years in finance, revenue operations, analytics and project management, most recently three-plus years in sales finance at a global medical device company with more than $100M in annual revenue.

"I make the numbers people argue about agree."

In sales finance I ran quarterly commissions for about forty reps end to end (every rep gets exactly one chance to trust your math), helped shape quotas, territories and comp plans, co-built the Power BI reporting the executive team ran the business on, and kept the CRM and ERP data clean enough to act on. I was also the person every department, in every country, pinged when a number looked off, which is still my favorite kind of problem.

Before that I led a healthcare software rollout across fifteen-plus clinics as a project manager, trained more than 250 people on new systems, turned messy support data into executive business reviews, and co-founded a startup, so I know how to ship without a big budget.

How I work

We agree on definitions first. I build on your real data. Every number ties back to its source. You get a short note on what changed so it does not break the same way again. I use AI tools every day for speed; the thinking, the formulas and the final check are mine. Everything in writing, so nothing is lost between a call and a deliverable.

Beyond consulting

Known Quantity is also where I build things: a game studio, two clothing stores run with my wife, a template shop and a weekly data product. Running those with the same systems discipline is part of the point. See how the company is put together.

Off the clock: I grew up among the redwoods in Northern California and now live in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, with my wife. I'm slowly learning Russian, and I will happily talk your ear off about why a good spreadsheet is a kind of writing.
